(FIM-MAT-NANO)
MAT-NANO is one of the units of ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, devoted to applied nanotechnologies and device fabrication.
Studying Device Materials Technologies is our core mission, emphasizing energy-saving devices, use of low-cost materials and environment-friendly fabrication technologies. Several classes of sensors and thin film devices (most of them belong to the field of ORGANIC ELECTRONICS) are under study, always exploring the entire path that links the raw materials to the field test of complex devices such as flexible displays and e-noses....the functional materials under study cover both laboratory-sinthesized nanomaterials and commercial ones.
...in our site you will find also more fundamental science, concerning our work in the fields of nanotechnology (inspection, manipulation, growth of low-dimensional things), detection algorithms and computer science (sensor fusion, wireless sensor networks).
You will meet also computer simulation and measurements, in the fields of EM wave propagation and EM compatibility. In this framework, we also act as component test service facility for Italian SMEs.
In a close cooperation with Italian SMEs, solid state scintigraphic detectors are studied for applications to static and mobile sensor networks.
All the people working in MAT-NANO is contributing to the website preparation, to update day-by-day the report of our results and equipments. Therefore, we hope to provide you an “ever-changing showcase” !
